Volume 17 - Day 312/53, 2025 - Saturday

This was a full day at sea, and there were three lectures I attended, a recap of the day, and I just got back from a review of maritime superstitions. I have WIFI somewhat figured out, but not really. I have forwarded a few photos to my email from my phone, and only one of them has actually been received in my email, but it is better than nothing. Last night was not as bad as they had forecast, and we were informed today that the seas overnight should have been the worst of it. I think we are about halfway through the Drake Passage, and we may start to see some coastlines tomorrow. The lectures were interesting and informative; the Albatross, Antarctic Explorers, Part 1, and Wildlife and Ecology on and around Antarctica. Interestingly, a few early explorers SAW Antarctica, but they thought it was just ice. Later on, it was thought 'well, maybe there is land under all that ice.' I guess I will find out more during Part 2. Many of the passengers were not well today, so some of the things that were to be done today, are now scheduled for tomorrow. I don't want to brag or anything, and I especially don't want to jinx anything, but I have been on far worse cruises (weather wise and sea wise), but I have never been seasick. Okay, I will hopefully have more news tomorrow, and be able to share a better photo.
