It was another kind of busy day, and another day that started really early. It has all been worth it though, because I have seen (and hugged) friends and colleagues from all across the country that I have not seen for a while. And then, there are my special peeps, and it is always really nice to get a chance to hang out with them. And we all take full advantage. Today there was a breakfast, then a series on presentations, all of them were really interesting even if we (I) never heard of the presenters before, and then there was a Texas luncheon, and then there was (almost) a nap. Before there was a nap, though, we all got up and went to the WynWood Walls, an area in Miami that has transformed a forgotten industrial area into a mecca of large-scale street art. It was really interesting and fun to view. Then we ate a little more, then we got ready for the closing reception this evening, and then we went to dinner at Queen Omakase Restaurant, a wonderful place in an old re-envisioned movie theater. Very interesting, and very good food. Overall, a really great day. Tomorrow will be less busy, but I am sure there will be a lot of action packed in. Oh, and Happy Birthday again to Tobetha!
