Volume 17 - Day 198/167, 2025 - Thursday

Let's talk about carrot cake. The survey says, I should not have paid $8 for the carrot cake slice. Understood. I went to the web site of the place I bought the cake slice, and their on-line menu says a slice of carrot cake is $5.25. I still think that is kind of high, but I am not sure I have any fight in me for $2.75 plus tax. Probably not. However, I will not recommend the place to anyone...well, the cake was not awful, so I will probably tell peeps to just pay attention to the menu. Whatever. It was a beautiful day in central Texas, no rain, just a lovely, sunny (and warm) day. The girls enjoyed their time outside, and I am working on my list of chores for the weekend. There is a tree in the front that needs to be trimmed back some, and that is the most important thing on the list. I may do a little bit of this and that, but nothing overwhelming. I will be going in to Austin tomorrow. I have an appointment to donate platelets at 10:45, and I expect to be done with that by 1:30 or so. Then I may make a couple stops here and there, before heading home. I am pretty sure the girls think I am a permanent accessory to them now, and we all take plenty of naps. There are three, maybe five, estate sales for the weekend, depending on how adventurous we want to get. We should get those knocked out by about noon.
