Hopefully, I am done with all the preventive maintenance the Curious House needs for several more years. Last week, I had the critters eliminated and replaced all the insulation in the attic; sealed up all the access points, and hopefully that will last a while. Today, I had all the failing caulking around the house; garage doors, windows, etc., and that all looks great. I also had the fence inside the back yard painted, and the fencing facing the street painted, according to the HOA color palette (which is not at all attractive). I also had the underpinning all around the house painted. SO...maybe I am done for a while. Linda and Jimmie invited me to go to Costco with them this morning, and I got a few things there. I am still unsure whey they think apple pie is a seasonal item. That makes no sense to me. Tomorrow I will bring all the plants inside to keep them from freezing over the next five days or so, we are expecting extended low temperatures, something we are not at all used to. And... there is a chance of freezing precipitation. You won't find me driving anywhere if that happens. I do have to go and winterize a house I have listed, that will take a few hours, but it should not be any big deal. I had chicken and dumplings for dinner tonight, chicken and dumplings that Gina brought me a while back. Very good! I saw this little flower in the back bed this afternoon, at first I thought it was a Mexican petunia, but I guess it is one of the last morning glories of the season. It is low to the ground, so maybe that kept it from freezing. Thursday, January 22, 2026
