Volume 18 - Day 24/341, 2026 - Saturday

It doesn't seem like this weather event is going to be as serious as the one in 2021, but lots of precautions have been taken. I have done very little of anything of any value today, I basically just stayed home and curled up with the girls in the big chair and took a series of naps. Billy and Gina did come over and hlep me bring the big planter of impatiens in the house, there is really no room for them in the house, so we just drug them in to the front hall. They should be happy to simply survive for the next several days. The day did begin with more consumables in the house, but much of that has been consumed. Pipes are dripping, ALL the plants are being sheltered, so I guess I am just about as ready as I am going to get. I did try (twice) to go get the mail, but the lock on the cluster box is iced over. The second time I went out there, there were a couple icy patches on the sidewalk that I hit, but I didn't fall. There were lots of birds out at the feeders this afternoon, and it was fun watching them go back and forth. I have watched about as much tv as I can in the past twelve hours, but I am about to go settle back down in the big chair. Stay warm!
