Volume 17 - Day 177/188, 2025 - Thursday

We left Chamonix-Mont Blanc this morning at about 9:30 and drove to Lauterbrunnen (don't ask), with a lunch stop in Bern. Bern is the Capitol of Switzerland, and Albert Einstein lived here for some years. Not sure how many. We had a nice walk in Bern, sat in a park with water and Coke Zero, and bought more t-shirts. I will probably have to pay an excess baggage fee just because of the t-shirts. We got to Lauterbrunnen at about 2 o'clock (maybe), and checked in to the hotel. Halfway to Lauterbrunnen it started raining, and it has been raining off-and-on ever since. A nice, good rain. Most of the drive was through or around the Alps, and it is absolutely beautiful. We had lunch at the hotel, and then Paulina and Oliver went hiking, Mike and I bought more t-shirts and walked a little bit, in between rains. Tomorrow we are heading to Zurich, but before we leave, we are taking the Jungfrau Railway to the Top of Europe. The train leaves at 7:30AM and we will have to get the luggage in the car before we leave, and I think this will be a really fun excursion. Except for the getting up at 5AM part. We should be back to the hotel by 1, and then head off to Zurich, which I think will be a two hour drive or so, and probably a couple stops along the way. I was invited to a wedding this afternoon, see the photo accompanying this journal entry. This soon to be married couple were having photos taken, so I joined them, which is something I like to do. They were fun, and invited me to the wedding, which, unfortunately, I had to decline.
