Volume 17 - Day 274/91, 2025 - Wednesday

Well, welcome to October, it is hard to believe we are almost through with this year. It has not been a particularly bad year for me (there is still time), and I like to think that I am in charge of the good or not-so-good that happens to me. I actually think I am in control of myself. I understand that I may be the only person that thinks that, so there you have it. After our morning walk, I got ready and headed in to Austin for a 10 o'clock meeting. I left at 8:45 and thought that would be plenty of time. Nope. I got to the meeting at just about 10:15. Returning to the Curious House after the meeting was not quite as bad, but it was not really a piece of cake, either. Gina and I went to Trader Joe's, leaving at about 1:15. There were no terrible traffic issues going or coming, but I was just a little anxiety prone after the morning challenge. The photo accompanying this entry was on our way home, it did cause some backups, but nothing terrible. Speaking of cake (see a few sentences above), I did finish a piece of carrot cake that I got at Upper Crust on September 20th. If something gets put in the freezer in the kitchen, or in the refrigerator in the garage, I may never remember that it is there. Does that mean I am not as in charge as I think I am?
