Volume 17 - Day 213/152, 2025 - Friday

I cannot think of too many times (I can't remember any) that I have gone to estate sales on a Friday. Even more confidently, I cannot think of a single time that I have paid full price for anything at an estate sale. Generally, I will go on Saturday, scope things out, and then go back on Sunday when stuff is half-price. Whatever I had my eye on, it will still be there, or not. No big deal. I spied something at an estate sale the other day (on the preview page), and it was something I was very interested in buying. See the photo accompanying this journal entry. The carving on the right is something that came in to my life from Jody. It is actually a music box, and the figure whistles Ach Du Lieber Augustin. The one on the left is what I saw on-line, and now it belongs to me. It is not a music box, the lamp does not light, but I am happy that it was there when I got to the estate sale 30 minutes after it opened. It did not have a price tag on it, but I paid the $28 they asked for it, and was very happy. On the way home, I stopped at HEB for a few things, and decided I was close, so I might as well go by the donut place. Later in the afternoon, I had a couple errands to run, and it sprinkled a little bit, but nothing at the Curious House. Tomorrow morning I will go and donate some platelets and plasma with Paulina, and tomorrow night I will check out the ConcertDome in Austin. It looks kind of like the Sphere in Las Vegas, I will report back tomorrow evening.
