Volume 17 - Day 147/218, 2025 - Monday

Just to bring you up to speed on the storms last night, nothing terrible happened here at the Curious House, but we did get almost an inch (0.99") of rain, and there might be some more overnight tonight. Fingers crossed! Just before the rains hit (and they hit pretty hard), my neighbor Billy brought over a couple slices of home made pizza and some fresh baked cookies. Gina cook, maybe every night, and I am the occasional recipient of her finished products. Yummy! We walked this morning, and it was cooler than usual, and the humidity was not as bad. I think it was actually in the 60s this morning. The Austin high temperature today was 93 degrees, and the highest I noted at the Curious House was 86 degrees. That is a nice change. On our morning walks, we have passed this pile of crap (see photo), on a dead-end part of a street, for the last five or six days. After brunch on Sunday, I checked it out, and there was some good stuff there, and I had my eye on some bricks. This morning, while we were walking, I asked one of the neighbors if he knew who had put it there, and he didn't know. After our ROMEO breakfast, I stopped at another neighbors, next to the pile of crap, and she said they were in the middle of a project, that she didn't know what the vendor left that stuff there, and she didn't know when the work would be done or when the stuff would be moved. Dang it! No bricks for me. Oh, and the Total Stranger Tuesday postings are done, I just think it is more trouble than it is worth, and today it was not fun trying to do it. Rest in Peace! I also took the Buzz to the local VW dealer with no appointment, because the tire air pressure light would not reset, even after I had the tire pressures checked. I nice service lady named Sam showed me how to reset it, and everything is fine right now. There are two recalls on the Buzz, but I will be notified when it is my turn to take it in to be fixed.
