Today was another day of trying to do as little as I possibly could, and at that I was quite successful! I did get about 30% of the grass cut in the front yard (there is always next weekend), and I got the cattle fed and the chicken coop cleaned out. I am trying to think if there was anything else I did, but I am drawing a blank. The morning glories are looking awfully puny (the vines themselves) but the blooms were magnificent this morning. Barney the cat did not care at all for all the racket and activity that surrounded the grass cutting, and the chickens are always up for a game of bug, chicken, garden tractor. The garden tractor could easily win (mainly because chickens can think of nothing else when they see a bug), but the garden tractor operator believes that discretion is the better part of valor, and there is quite an investment in those chickens. At (an estimated expense of) about $12.50 an egg, it is worth it to avoid running over a chicken, no matter the cost.
That was pretty much it for the day. It was warmer today than yesterday, but the morning was very nice. Temperatures are expected to rise through the week until about Thursday or Friday, when they may drop five degrees or so, which we will take gladly.
