2017 - Day 161/204 - Saturday...

In the tall grass (and in the early light of morning), a skunks tail can resemble the fan of a cobra, kind of sort of. It's the hopping through the tall grass that dispels the cobra theory. Soon enough though, you it gets close to you (it's like it was drawn to me), and you can see very clearly that it is a skunk. Last year we had two or three baby skunks that I would see playing in the mornings up by the chicken coop, but I have mostly seen dead skunks this year. And then today there was this one. We are again a little bit worried about Barney the cat. AWOL for about a week now, not sure if Barney is eating the food we put out, or maybe it is the skunk. We will keep a lookout for him. Or her. In the meantime, the baby chicks are getting bigger every day, and tomorrow I am going to get the enclosure attachment down out of the attic in the barn so they can have some more room to roam in. That will make them much happier, and it will make me feel more like a responsible chick daddy. Otherwise, all else is well on the edge of nowhere. Deeds, Actions, Changes, SKUNKS, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
