2018 - Day 286/79 - Saturday...1625...

On our way to lunch this afternoon, we stopped at one of our neighbors (hereinafter to be referred to as 'The Chicken Lady' or 'CL' for short. CL had come by last week and asked if we wanted any chicks, and we told her sure. She was expecting some chicks to hatch tomorrow (tomorrow now, not tomorrow last week), and I told her we would take some. We stopped over there to let her know that I was going to be out of town all this week coming, could she keep the chicks till I returned. Sure, now problem. How many did I want? How many have you got? Thirty-five or 40. Well, we'll take eight or ten. That'll do. She has a gaggle of guineas too, which are the subject of the photo for this entry. She used to have a pet turkey, too, but alas mating season showed up and he left. So much for loyalty.

Earlier in the day, I went to Taylor and got some molasses barrels for the cattle and ran a couple errands. Came home, took a nap and did a few more things, and that is when we headed in for lunch.

Late tomorrow is when it is supposed to start raining, and the temperature is supposed to drop by about 40 degrees. That should last three or four days, just long enough for us to get tired of it, not long enough for us to get used to it.

Deeds, Actions, Changes, GUINEAS, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
