2018 - Day 351/14 - Monday...1689...

I am confused. The dogs are confused (they think something is living under the deck in the dog yard and they are probably right). The chickens may not be confused, but there are a couple missing. Last night I counted (three times) 21 chickens, and that means there are two AWOL chickens. Probably never to be seen or clucked from again. I am confused by the length of darkness we are experiencing here in central Texas. This is not Alaska or Norway. It is not supposed to be dark this long in the day time. But I digress. The topic of this confusing entry is the discovery of these two Iris in one of the back beds. It is NOT springtime, there should be no confusing that fact. We are NOT experiencing springlike temperatures. It is COLD. The days are short and the nights are long. But these Iris have decided to be early adopters (I don't know where they get that from), and bloom in late December.

BUT...the truth is, they are exquisitely beautiful, a pleasure to behold. So enjoy them as much as we are enjoying them now.

Deeds, Actions, Changes, IRIS, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
