2010 - Day Three Hundred Twenty Four...

Early post today, because we are actually going to be out after dark this evening! At least now we will know if the headlights work on the car or not!

This morning was a typical weekend morning; slept (okay, stayed in bed) a little later than usual, and got up and did morning chores. After a while, I made a nice egg loaf. We are using fewer eggs because the girls eggs are getting bigger as they get this egg-laying thing down pat! Did some laundry, cleaned the ashes out of the wood stove and a few other things. We went over to Hubert and Pauline's and left them a dozen-and-a-half eggs, and then we were off to Taylor.

We needed to go to Taylor Feed to get some feed for the cattle, and as long as we were there, we might just as well stop at Dairy Queen, and then we stopped at Tractor Supply, where I got a pair of welders gloves (for putting logs in the stove and moving them around) and a pair of winter fleece lined work gloves. This is a picture of the 'cow-chow'; during the winter (okay, the cooler times of the year) they get their regular 'creep feed' and another feed mixed in with it that contains molasses and cotton seed. That feed keeps them warmer when it is colder weather.

Once we got home, I moved the feed into the feed shed, fed the cattle the last of the older creep, and put a fresh bale of hay out for them. When that was finished, Jody and I sat down and watched a mini-marathon of 'Big Bang Theory', several of the episodes that we had recorded. It fouls everything up when the change the television schedules. I have not watched a single episode of 'Glee' this year, since it is not on at a very inconvenient time for us. Oh well, we will one day have a 'Glee' marathon and get all caught up.

I went outside and let the chickens out of their pen, and changed their water. Tomorrow I will get their coop cleaned, but it will be later in the afternoon.

Tonight we are going to the Austin Empty Bowl Project Preview Party, and tomorrow I am volunteering for the function. It is always fun and it is a very worthwhile project, benefiting the Capital Area Food Bank. I would like to see all of you there.

Deeds, Actions, Changes, COW-CHOW, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
