Sage stands for good health and long life. When the sage is blooming, it is also supposed to mean that it will rain soon. The sage all over this part of the county is going crazy, but there is no rain in the forecast. I think there is a ten percent chance, which means it is not going to rain here. BUT, we do have the sage to enjoy and look at while we perspire and the ground cracks open from lack of moisture.
I did get the rest of the grass cut in the front of the house today, and escaped being stung by the bees. I also got an e-mail from one of the members of the Williamson County Area Beekeepers Association, noting that if you get stung, tape a penny to the sting, and it will keep the pain and swelling down.
Our friends Jim and Bonnie are visiting from Houston, and we went out to see the chickens, and Bonnie was promptly stung. So she is now walking around with a penny taped to her cheek. AND, if you ask her nicely, she will tell you about being stung on the butt by a wasp in a restroom of a public library in Houston. Just if you are really curious. REALLY...
