Okay, made it to San Diego without too much trouble. I got up early this morning and finished packing, and made it into the office to get some final work done before taking off.
Carrie and I met up with a couple other folks from NARPM heading to San Diego. I actually slept most of the flight, and that was pretty nice. Carrie brought a couple sandwiches and some really good gluten free puffed popcorn chips, so that pretty much covered lunch. We made it to San Diego just about right on time, and got to the Hotel by about 2 o'clock in the afternoon. We went and registered, then went and had something to eat, and then I went to my room and watched a little bit of tv news before meeting up with the group to go to dinner.
We had dinner on the USS Midway, and that was pretty darned cool. Before dinner, the friends we met up with took a tour of the bridge, the Captains Quarters, the Admirals Quarters and the Captains Port Quarters, along with other things on the ship. Launched in 1945 and retired in 1992 it is pretty much a floating museum and really pretty interesting.
Classes and seminars tomorrow, maybe the zoo.
Deeds, Actions, Changes, FLOATING MUSEUM, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
