I got up really kind of early this morning, made coffee, read the paper, made a pile of eggs for me and Jody. Then it was time to feed the chickens and the cattle. In the past two days, we have received almost an inch of rain, and that, coupled with what we already had, leaves the ground pretty well saturated and muddy. The feeding area back by the big barn was (and generally stays) pretty muddy, but that does not dampen the Pavlov's Cow effect that is ever present. You name it; Pavlov's Dog, Pavlov's Cat, Pavlov's Chickens, Pavlov's Cattle...we got 'em all!We went into town this morning to have an early Christmas lunch with our friends Lynda and Michael. Very nice, and it is always a wonderful dinner when we visit with them. We got home about 5:30, and there is a freeze warning out for tonight and tomorrow, so I brought all the plants into the barn and/or garage. Then I had to go turn the water off to one of the troughs out in the back pasture. Everything should be under control.
One day of work (tomorrow) then closing the office for two days, then two days of work and then the weekend.
I hope I can make it.
