2017 - Day 89/276- Thursday...

Jody and I played hooky today. Is that the way you spell hooky? How about hookey? Nope. Hookie? Nope. It must have been right the first time. Always go with your instincts. Anyway... I had a late meeting last night, so I stayed in Austin. I got up this morning, realized that we were playing hooky, and decided there was no reason to shave! It was almost like a Saturday morning, except it was different, it was Thursday. Anyway... I made it home about 9 a.m., and we packed up and headed for Willow City Loop. To be honest, the Indian Paintbrushes, Indian Blankets, White Poppies, Bluebonnets and some little yellow wildflowers (not bastard cabbage) were really more plentiful along the road sides than they were in the Loop, but you got vistas and overlooks in the loop that do not translate into photos but are really beautiful. It has also been a while since we have really been deeper into the Hill Country, so that was very nice. We say one deer crossing a highway (he made it) and a couple wild turkeys, one of which was very cooperative in the photo opportunity department. We had a late lunch in Burnet; we had intended to have lunch at the Bluebonnet Cafe (get it?), but there we a line out the door so we went to the fish restaurant overlooking the river. Very nice. Then home in time for Jeopardy and naps all around. Deeds, Actions, Changes, TURKEYS, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
