2017 - Day 237/128 - Friday...

I have learned a couple more things recently; you have to be pretty careful about what you ask for, because you might just get it. Take rain for instance. For the past month or so, I have been lamenting the fact that we could really use some rain. A local custom in central Texas is to hope for a hurricane. A hurricane that will bring rains to central Texas, but not cause any harm to life or property. Well, part of that message was received, and part of it was not. It looks like we are going to get some rain in the next week or so, we are just not sure exactly how much rain we may receive. The estimates for our particular piece of heaven range anywhere from 3" to 20". The hurricane (Harvey) is expected to make landfall sometime in the early morning hours of Saturday (tomorrow) and we should start getting some rain about 3:30 a.m. Then, the storm is supposed to stall, and just sit here (or there or where ever) for five or six days. So we have no idea exactly what to expect right now. What I do know is, we will (I expect) be fine, and we will come through this much luckier than many of our friends and neighbors and colleagues. It is a big storm, and it is a powerful storm. Everybody be safe, send kind thoughts to everyone (not just in Texas). EVERYONE. Deeds, Actions, Changes, RAIN, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
