2017 - Day 239/126 - Sunday...

We are still so much luckier than many of our friends in Texas. So far, we have had just a little over five inches of rain out here on the edge of nowhere. Comparatively speaking, that is just a drop in the bucket. The ground around here is pretty saturated, and we are good with that. There were cracks in the ground up closer to the road that you could have lost a ping pong ball in, but those have all closed up for the time being. I expect that once the rains stop (forecast to be Wednesday or Thursday), we will be in need of rain again by the end of September. That puts us at almost 10 inches of rain for August, and I think August is one of our drier months. But again, we are not complaining about the rain, not here anyway. During one of the brief lulls in the rain, Jody took me and the dog girls for a ride. The Piglet and the Wolf Dog like to stick their heads out the windows, although the Wolf Dog is more inclined to it than the Piglet. It will be interesting to drive in to Austin tomorrow morning, to see what is going on there. Next weekend will be a long weekend, and I am looking forward to that. Send thoughts (and money if you can) to those less fortunate than yourselves, and never forget how lucky you are, no matter what your circumstance is. Deeds, Actions, Changes, MORE RAIN, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
