The last day of July. A cold front (haha) came through late this morning, winds are from the north, it is the first day in the last 14 days that we did not exceed 100 degrees. Officially. I think there were some places (like the Edge of Nowhere) that saw over 100 degrees, but officially in Austin, 98 or 99. I think it is supposed to be more like average temperatures (bordering on the century mark) for the next several days. We are all tired of the hot, kind of tired of the dry, kind of tired of the monotony. There are some moments, though, like this Cardinal that was on the gate in the dog yard the other day. What with all the Cardinals resigning at the Vatican and all, we are glad to see a few of them out here. Not sure what kind of hanky-panky this one in particular is up to, but I am certain it will make the papers soon.
One moment please while I go move a sprinkler...
I'm back. Statistically speaking, we used about 30,000 gallons of water in July. That's me, Jody, two dogs, 25 chickens, 8 head of cattle and the landscaping. Not too terrible if you average the whole thing out. Oh, and a little over 23 dozen eggs.
Deeds, Actions, Changes, CARDINALS, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
