2011 - Day Two Hundred Fifty Three; Saturday...

Another VERY FULL day of learning, networking and experiencing at the Texas Association of REALTORS Annual Convention being held this weekend (and early next week) in Austin. The day began at 7 this morning but it was not too bad, since I am staying in Austin for these meetings. By about 4:30 this afternoon, I was back in the Hotel, and took a break until 5:30 and attended the NAHREP reception. I won one of the door prizes, a wine tasting for a group of twelve! SWEET! Our agent Chris also won a $25 gift certificate for Starbucks! Perfect!

Much of the day was spent as a participant of the Downtown Austin Mixed-Use Bus Tour of various properties sponsored by the Texas Association of REALTORS Commercial Committee. We had a great lunch at City Hall provided by the Salt Lick, then we went on to the old Seaholm Power Plant which is being redeveloped as a mixed-use (commercial and residential) property. Then on to the Burts-Watts Headquarters, and 50's era commercial property renovated to a modern, sustainable office building. WONDERFUL. Then on to the Spring Condominiums for a tour of the homes there including a 7,200 square foot penthouse condominium. Beautiful views. The tour ended at the Austin City Limits Theatre where they tape the Austin City Limits television show. This is a photo of the Seaholm Power Plant interior. Pretty Cool!

After some more networking in the lobby bar, I got back to my room about 8:30, and ordered room service. Good (really pricey) food and a diet Dr. Pepper. There is some reasoning there, I am just not sure what it is.

Deeds, Actions, Changes, FUN DAY, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
