This is what happens when it rains in central Texas. Things that have lain dormant for season-after-season suddenly become rejuvenated, and they burst forward with new life and vigor. Things turn green (or in this case yellow) or blue or pink or purple. The dust is washed off the leaves and out of the air, and once again we remember the beauty of the Texas spring.
Speaking of politics, Jody and I put politics aside today and decided to go to Chic-Fil-A for lunch. We shared a chicken salad sandwich, and a large order of fries. Jody had a chocolate shake, and I had a Oreo-Cookie shake. Had to have my Oreo Cookies fix. We were accosted by the 'hosts' of the restaurant not fewer than four times to make sure we were content, that everything was okay, and could they refill our drinks for us. I took them up on that one, but they decided it was not really what they meant, since we were having shakes and not the high profit-margin sodas. Whatever...
And as long as we are discussing child raising, when exactly did parents stop teaching kids to chew their food with their mouths closed? I think it must have been the generation immediately following mine, because I see lots of 40 somethings that cannot chew without sharing it all with those around them.
You would think I had a bad day based on the ranting, but actually I did very little other than eating and sleeping the whole day. We have received about two inches of rain so far with this front that continues, and we are expectation about another quarter inch or so before it is all over. We had some great thunder (much to the chagrin of the dog) but it was interesting. The cat cannot be annoyed by the thunder since she is deaf as a post.
Looking forward to another equally rewarding day tomorrow.
