Totally useless trivia for the day: Taco is Spanish for 'plug'.
Our mail is delivered to the Bartlett, Texas Post Office, although we do not particularly lay claim to living in Bartlett. We tell people we live in Bartlett (because that is where the mail is delivered), but really we live somewhere (we know exactly where) between Walburg and Schwertner.
Bartlett is currently preparing to be one of the locations for the second season of a television series I did not even know existed, called REVOLUTION. To the best of my knowledge, it is set in the year 2025 and is about life in the United States after all technology has failed and there is no electricity anywhere in the country. The Bartlett Tribune Progress (Serving Central Texas Since 1886) has been devoting many a column inch to the goings-on of this production, good, bad and (mostly) indifferent. BUT, there was an interesting article in this weeks paper that said (and I quote) Ironically, the rustic, vacant look of a slightly depressed economy worked in favor of Bartlett. There is a lot of reading between the lines that can be taken from that sentence, so make of it what you will. One of the big things going on is the façade of a decaying courthouse being built IN THE MIDDLE of one of the main streets in the city. Not on the street, IN THE STREET. I wonder how they are going to get rid of the electric lines visible behind the façade? Whatever...
Today was a pretty typical Saturday, so I won't go into many details. Tomorrow will be a big chore day, and it is supposed to be a little bit cooler, so that will be nice. It only made it up to 105 degrees in Austin today.
Deeds, Actions, Changes, PRODUCTION SETS, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
