I got up this morning at 4 o'clock to get prepared for what I knew was going to be an extra long day. When my Google Calendar alert popped up at about 5:15 I was surprised that I had forgotten about a 7:30 meeting before the 9:30 meeting that I was preparing for.
I left the house at 6 o'clock and got to Austin in record time, and I was actually early. I was very graciously given tickets to the Opportunity Austin breakfast sponsored by the Austin Chamber of Commerce (thank you again, Cathy) and the featured speaker was Wendy Davis. Before the breakfast, Gubernatorial candidate Davis came up and spoke with me and Fred for about five minutes; we just happened to be in the right place at the right time, and I asked if I could have a photo taken with her. I was gonna do a 'selfie', but it appears she has 'people' to take care of stuff like that, so three folks appeared to take this photo. I also got a chance to spend some time with my brotha from anotha motha, Kirk Watson. He is a great guy, and I like him very much. Ms. Davis spoke of here vision for the future of Texas, and it was a very interesting presentation. Eight months (I think) we will know the results of the election.
From there I headed to the Board of REALTORS®, and the meeting began at 9:30. We had a lot of work to do, and the meeting ended (including the special session) at 7:10 this evening. Possibly a world record for the length of a Directors meeting, but there was really nothing more we could cut from the agenda; we did cut a few things but there was a lot of important work that needed to be done.
I made it home at about 8:30, and I am ready to call it a night.
Deeds, Actions, Changes, MEETINGS, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
