Today was a pretty darned good day. I remember days like this in the past where you were not over-scheduled and had time to breathe. I think next week will be something like that as well, and maybe even the week after. I will be going to NYC the week of the 24th, so that will be fun.
It was a beautiful day here in central Texas, and specifically on the edge of nowhere. Everything was good except we have to remember we are not a small town anymore, and we are (unfortunately) reminded of that fact when we are awakened to learn that a 21 year old punk (possibly intoxicated, probably not) in a stolen car runs down 23 (or so) people attending SXSW and kills two of them and critically injures about a dozen more. Totally not what we are used to in Austin. Our crime rate is comparatively low, we have about 40 murders a year (mostly folks who know each other) and we live in a nice place. We are trying to be an example, and then something like this happens. Makes the news EVERYWHERE, and just makes us look like we are not paying attention.
We are paying attention...
Deeds, Actions, Changes, WE GET IT, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
