If there was any doubt at all as to whether I was back home in Texas, those doubts were put to rest by the appearance of this two-story pick-up truck that appeared while we were filling the car up with gas at Wal-Mart this afternoon. The driver of the truck saw me taking the photo, so I walked over to him. He said he had tired of trying to find his truck in the parking lot and this vehicle had solved the problem for him. His truck is never lost in a crowd, although it could possibly be more difficult to find in the parking lot of a monster truck competition. It could happen...
Today was a pretty typical Saturday for us. If you have any overwhelming urge to know how we spent the day, simply flip through the past five years worth of journal entries, pick a Saturday, and there you are! DONE!
This is photo of Sakhmet in the Metropolitan Museum of Art that Melody and I screamed through yesterday. We had to have spent at least 20 minutes in the place. Sorry...I was on deadline! Sakhmet was originally the warrior goddess as well as the goddess of healing for upper Egypt. She is depicted as a lioness, the fiercest hunter known to the Egyptians. It was said her breath formed the desert, and she was the protector of the pharaohs and led them in warfare.
Tomorrow will be (I expect) another typical day. There are lots of things to get accomplished around the house as a result of the high winds and hail that came down yesterday. Lots of good sized limbs are down, and the grass is not getting any shorter. It is supposed to be a nice day, sunny and in the 70's. We shall see.
Deeds, Actions, Changes, TRUCKS, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
