2010 - Day Three Hundred Forty Five...

Today was a calm and quiet day, that is, it was calm and quiet if you were expecting finger snapping revelations about a wild and crazy day. We slept late and had some breakfast, and went out into the front shed and started cleaning out and trowing away and cleaning and sorting and straightening. WHOOPEE! We have, however, made great progress.

We actually took a truck load of stuff to the Goodwill in Georgetown, including a very large Christmas tree, two LARGE boxes of incandescent light bulbs and a box full of housewares. AND, a large television stand that has been in the attic of the front shed since we moved here from the condo. Let's talk about the light bulb situation. We had BOXES of incandescent light bulbs since we changed everything to compact fluorescents. I know there will be a day in my future when I will have to go to the store to buy a regular light bulb, and I am not really going to appreciate that day when it arrives.

I also took a load of corrugated cardboard into the recycling center in Austin. That combined with the trip to Goodwill were the real achievements of the day. You can clean all day long, but if there is stuff that still needs to be done, it makes me feel like the job is not finished. BUT, it is, and Joel and I are both happy with the achievements. It has only taken us two years to get it done. there is still some stuff to do, but we will get it done, some of it tomorrow (maybe).

Nothing really noteworthy in the photo department, but I am always fascinated with these trucks being pulled by trucks down the Interstate. I used to be really surprised to see the cab of an 18-wheeler heading at me on the Interstate, but now it is just another one of those things.

The girls were really feisty today, they would not leave us alone while we were cleaning the shed, and we gathered up five eggs from them today. A pretty good haul, considering there is another cold front coming through today. It is supposed to be close to freezing again tonight. We have a nice fire going in the stove, and that is lovely.

Deeds, Actions, Changes, FIRE IN THE STOVE, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
