There were plenty o' elephants in the skies around central Texas this afternoon. No more rain (there is a chance for some rain up until sundown, but that means we will not get any). It only seems to rain around here when there is no chance of rain. But the clouds were absolutely lovely, and I have to keep reminding you that clouds are something that you should not just take for granted.
When I got home from work today, I feared there had been another unfortunate skunk incident, but I was happy to open the door from the garage to discover that the odor was confined strictly to the garage and more specifically to Jody's truck. It seems there was an unavoidable carcass of a former skunk on one of the roads Jody travelled today, and that is the blame for the odor. I don't know if you remember or not, but earlier in the spring the Boy Dog was enamored with either a live skunk or a dead skunk, we never really were able to figure it out. All we know is that he was regularly sprayed or rolled in the unmistakably aromatic nectar that is a skunks (ordinarily so) defense. Less Eau de Cologne and more Eau Contraire!
