Volume 14 - Day 154/211, 2022 - Friday

There is a theory that Jimmy Don Perkins, a short-order cook in a Lamesa, Texas cafe invented Chicken Fried Steak when he mistook two separate orders; one for chicken and one for fried steak. That was in 1911. The delicacy is still going strong. I bring this up because, I had dinner tonight with Paulina, Val and Oliver, and two of us had chicken fried steak. Today was not a bad day, it was cool this morning when we walked, and then there was one zoom call. There was supposed to be two calls, but the 8:30 call was cancelled. After the call, I went to the battery store for an uncommon battery (size 377), then to Home Depot, and then Marge and I went to two estate sales. The estate sales were nothing to brag about, but there are two more that we will go to tomorrow. I did spend $4, and Marge spent $5. Not too bad. We had a brief little rain this morning, 0.02" in the gauge, but at this point, we will take what we can get.
