2010 - Day Two Hundred Eighty One...

The city has been taken over by freaks. Today starts the Austin City Limits Festival, and it will go on through Sunday. Traffic is reduced to a crawl in many parts of the city, and it is even worse in other parts. Central Austin is the mecca for the ACL Festival, and it is a tremendous attraction for persons from all over the world. Could there be any better weather for this festival? Probably not. It shows Austin off to its' best advantage, and that is wonderful. It is an economic boon to the city, and it fills our tax coffers to overflowing. I am not complaining, I am just reporting. The city has been over run with and by FREAKS.

Where else do you think you could find giant chia-pets resembling our two gubernatorial candidates, Rick Perry and Bill White, with the whole thing camouflaged as an advertisement for cow-poop? Well, I believe I am comfortable with the response 'Only In Austin'! And of course, this display or horticultural magnificence is visible only through Sunday at the Austin City Limits Festival in (you guessed it) Austin, Texas. My thanks for Carrie for sharing the photo and e-mailing it to me.

Three more eggs from the girls today, and we are having omelets for dinner tonight. Not 100% farm-fresh eggs, but that will be it from here on out. Excited about that.

Tomorrow will be a busy day, and there are lots of accomplishments to be made before I leave for Seattle on Sunday.

Deeds, Actions, Changes, FREAKS, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
