Volume 12 - Day 291/75, 2020 - Saturday

I nearly killed myself standing on a step stool this morning, trying to get a photo of these roses for this journal entry. Yellow roses were my father's favorites, and I have a fondness for them because of that. During the Victorian times, the yellow rose had a much different meaning that it does today. Several years ago, I read a book about the Victorian and later meanings of flowers and particularly the colors of the flowers, and it was really interesting. Back in the day, yellow roses symbolized jealousy and marital betrayal, Now, the yellow rose represents friendship, joy and caring. In central Texas, the yellow rose is known more to symbolize strip clubs and business man luncheons. I did very little of anything today, it started out lovely and cool this morning, we just just a trace of rain during the late morning, and the winds are now coming from the south, and bringing the coastal humidity with it. Tomorrow the temperatures are expected to be in the high 80s, and while that is really normal temperatures for this time of year, the lower and dryer temperatures of the last couple days were much nicer than what is expected tomorrow.
