2011 - Day Two Hundred Ninety Six; Sunday...

Early post today, because I am gonna take it EASY tonight. Fed the bees this morning (pep Hem, I am still feeding, not much in the way of blooms or pollen around here) and then Jody made a great pancake and bacon breakfast. After breakfast, I went out and fed the cattle and took a fresh bale of hay out to them. This is a photo of our youngest, little Miss Victoria (little baby of our first born, Violet). You can see Victoria MIGHT have a little bot of an attitude problem (not sure where she gets that from) since she is sticking her tongue out for the photo. It is either attitude or snot, but I am going with attitude. What do you think?

The chickens are doing nicely, we got three eggs from them today. Not sure if I mentioned that we lost one of the older girls last week. Crazy! One minute they are doing fine, the next minute they are 'legs-up-dead'. Another interesting thing is, both of the Ruby's have died. Both of the Vera's and the Broody's are doing fine. Not sure what to make of that. SO, we are down to only four of the girls that we started with last year (out of six) and the six new girls are all doing well. They should begin to lay about the first of December, and I am really interested in seeing what their blue eggs will look like. Should be fun!

Busy week ahead!

Deeds, Actions, Changes, HAPPY COWS, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
