2012 - Day 183/183 - Sunday...

We are half-way done.  Pay attention.

Here is a note to anyone that wants to pay attention.  If you want to change the behavior, move the food.  It works with chickens, so I think it can probably work with anything (or anyone).  It is official, the newest chickens have felt the dirt between their toes.  Do chickens have toes?  Whatever.  ANYWAY, I think they were just too comfortable up in their little coop.  They had everything they needed there, a roost, a comfy place to sit and while away the hours.  They had food and they had water.  What else does a chicken need? Um...NOTHING.  So, I moved their food this morning down onto the ground, and it did not take them too long to figure out that if they wanted some food, they needed to go where the food was.  If you can change the behavior of chickens, what else can you change the behavior of?

I got the cattle fed this morning, and we actually got a LITTLE bit of rain today as well.  About 0.015" of rain.  Not really enough to brag about, but at least it was better than a trace.  Austin reported 0.04" of rain today, so they did better than we did.

I also went and got some signs and lock boxes off a couple properties today, and there will be a grand tour of putting properties on the market tomorrow.

Irene brought us some okra, peppers, squash, tomatoes, cucumbers and CAKE and we sent her home with some eggs.  I need to ask her if she wants any figs.  If you read this Irene, let me know and I will pick you some on Wednesday before we go back into Austin.

It is really amazing how much heat the pool can lose after just one cloudy day.  Jody and I went in after dinner, and it was very chilly.  But refreshing!

Has anyone got big plans for the Fourth?  We are going in to our friend Steve's.  Looking forward to some BBQ and hanging out for a while.  Gonna be fun!

Deeds, Action, Changes, FRESH VEGGIES, Kindnesses, Whirled Peas, FUN!
