Volume 13 - Day 70/295, 2021 - Thursday

Okay, now that I have your attention... It seems my rant from earlier this week (Tuesday, mebbe) was seen by a couple journalists of the local newspaper, and there were two (count 'em, 2), not one but two articles in the morning newspaper bemoaning the fact that daylight saving time begins this weekend. When the whole thing started (55 years ago?), the farmers were afraid that the extra hour of sunlight everyday was going to burn up their corn crops in the fields. I could not make this stuff up. Arizona and Hawaii have the right idea, they do not spring forward OR fall back. It doesn't save any energy, it actually wastes energy now, because of the wide spread use of air conditioning. It's a health hazard. Germany was the first country to observe daylight saving time. There is no 's' on the saving part of daylight saving time. It's singular. It lowers students SAT scores. Whatever. Today was another busy day, and apparently, there is an app or filter for just about everything. The photo in this journal entry is what happens when someone (not saying who) in your office decides to play around at lunch. We now return to our regularly scheduled program.
