Volume 13 - Day 121/244, 2021 - Saturday

South Padre Island. Been here a couple times in the past, this is the first time I have been here in the rain. Still a wonderful place to be. What's a little rain. Except we were supposed to be participating in a fishing tournament. Nancy and I were on a boat with our own captain, and our captain was in charge of the tournament, so he had other responsibilities, which was totally okay with us. Nancy and I got a chance to really have some interesting conversations and shared some inner thoughts, and I am very happy about that. Our captain retrieved us at some point, and we took off and spent a while casting and reeling, and (dammit) Nancy caught a fish. It was a nice trout (?), and we got this picture (along with some others), and then threw him/her back in. No reason to kill a perfectly good fish when we were just pretending to compete. Our captain (Nick) is a wise man, and he said it was going to rain again, so we called it a morning, and went back to shore. It was a great day, got back to the hotel, took a nap, then went to the awards presentation, had some dinner (fried swimps (my favorite)), and then went for dessert and drinks (key lime pie (my favorite)), watched a beautiful sunset, had more drinks, then back to the hotwl. A great weekend in South Padre Island, thanks to everyone for all your hard work and the invitation!
